I started my journey towards becoming a fully qualified Architect in 2017 at Northumbria University Newcastle on the K100 BA Architecture course.
My first year at Northumbria can only be described as amazing, as I have learned so much in furthering my knowledge of Architecture and meeting so many like minded people who also wish to become successful Architects and Interior Architects in the future.
My favourite period of architecture is definitely the modernist period, inspired by the likes of Le Corbusier and Marcel Breuer. I hope to use there designs as inspiration for my potential projects in the future combining simplicity and elegance to a functional building.
So far I have gained work experience in the summer of 2017 learning from Sally Kirk Walker at Native Architects in York. Here I was introduced to the main functions and processes of the practice as well as being able to meet several qualified architects and architectural assistants. I gained key knowledge on what their jobs were like and their day to day duties within professional practice.
